~ Newborn Week 1~
Our puppies are lovingly raised indoors in a family
environment. They are born in our nursery where
the dam feels safe and secure. Our puppies are
never brought into this world alone. We are always
right next to the whelping box during labor and
delivery comforting their mother and assisting the
delivery making sure everything goes smooth. We
start
Early Neurological Stimulation Exercises
when the pups are 24 hours old.
The babies are taken to the vet at 3-4 days old for
their first exam, tail docking and dewclaw removal.
We recently started litterbox training our puppies and LOVE IT! CLICK HERE to see the poopy cam. I'm home with
the puppies and their area is kept immaculately clean at all times. The dishes are ran thru the dishwasher after
every feeding, the bedding & toys are laundered everyday on the hot water cycle. When your pups area is kept
immaculately clean they potty train much faster and will go way to the other end of their pen to potty on the paper
or if litter trained, in their litterbox which leaves the rest of the pen clean for running around, wrestling & playing
with their toys. We found that litter training keeps the pups and their pen so much cleaner than paper training.
By time they are 6 weeks old they are totally litter trained and by 8 weeks also have a great start on outdoor potty
training. Litter training does not interfere with their outdoor potty training.

~ Puppy Recess ~
We have  "puppy recess" several times a day!! During recess the pups are allowed to run around indoors or
outdoors exploring and playing with us, their litter mates, our adult dogs, and all the toys they can dream of!! We
also spend daily one on one time with each puppy during this one on one time we cuddle & talk to the pups so
they really start learning to bond with humans and also learn to enjoy lap time

~ Exceptional Quality. Exceptional Care ~
Our goal for every puppy produced is for health,
temperament & confirmation. We are deeply
devoted to giving our puppies the very best start
possible. In return we expect only the best for
them from their new families. Not only do LMS pups
get the very best of care throughout their first 8
weeks of life such as daily care, best in nutrition,
mental stimulation, socialization, and medical care.
We are also very committed to placing our puppies in
only the safest, most loving, and committed,
"forever homes" possible. Our commitment is not
only for the first 8 weeks but for their entire
lifetime
.
~ 3-5 weeks old ~
At 3 to 3.5 weeks of age we move them downstairs
into the heart of the home, where they get lots of
love and attention. We work very hard to make sure
they are very well socialized as well as exposed to
all the sights and sounds of family life.
At 4 weeks we start introducing food.

~ Puppy Play Pen ~
Our puppies can start walking as early as 3 weeks
of age. At 3 weeks we add another box onto the
whelping box so they have twice as much room.
This gives them a 3 foot by 6 foot area all set up
with their bedding, toys, food & water dishes.

~ 6-8 weeks old ~
This is the age when you can really start to see their individual personalities
develop. Each pup receives a full health exam at 6-7 weeks of age. Our vet
provides a written health exam form for each puppy with all the details and
findings of each pups exam .We have "Litter Visit Day" for each litter at about 7
weeks old but our pups still need to stay with us until at least 8 weeks old. By that
time our nubby tail waggin bundles of joy are ready to start bonding with their new
forever families.

~ Our Adults ~
We have carefully selected our breeding dogs from
healthy champion bred bloodlines and strive to breed to
the
AMSC breed standard and improve our lines with
every breeding.  Every dog owned by LMS has been
health tested and has their OFA & CERF clearances
and certifications. You can see the proof of these
tests on the web sites below and also on each dogs
individual page. Each health test is registered with
Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA)
Canine Health Information Center (CHIC)
Canine Eye Research Foundation (CERF)
Our dogs live with us in our home as part of our family
and have 1/3 acre to run & play. They are not kennel
dogs and get to enjoy life. Some of their favorite
things to do besides chasing birds and squirrels are to
go "Bye Bye" in the car and nap in front of the fire.

~ Weeks 2-3 ~
The babies eyes open at about 10-14 days
old. We handle the babies every day. We
trim their nails every week. Some lil ones
start walking as early as 2.5 weeks of age.
At about 3 weeks they start playfully
chewing on each other and their toys. Our
pups are kept upstairs in the nursery for the
first 3 weeks where the mother feels safe
and secure.
